Rodríguez is a master at creating a magical, yet unthreatening atmosphere. What used to be [considered] avant garde techniques are now employed in the service of larger musical goals. For example, the "drink, sir, is a great provoker" monologue from MACBETH is illustrated by [dropping wine corks] directly on the strings of the piano, while the violin "burps" after the feast in THE TEMPEST.
