Salonen has an evident sympathy with the Polish composer’s music and ... relishes the mood of the work as it expands steadily from its quite ravishing, atmospheric opening. And the acoustics of Walt Disney Hall, so perfect for music of this subtlety, play their part too. I found this a quite mesmerising experience.
