SEA RUNES is a haunting and evocative setting of a group of six poems by the Orkney poet, George Mackay Brown and was written as a companion piece to THE HOUSE OF WINTER. The contrasting poems are:

• Five Crags
• Elder
• Crofter/Fisherman
• Shopkeeper
• New Boat
• Fishmonger

The first performance was given on 16 November 1986 at the Alice Tully Hall, New York by the King’s Singers.
