Programme Note
Composer note:
Moravia is a small province in ventral Czechoslovakia. It nurtured many excellent folk poets and folk musicians but most of them are unknown. However, they were very adept in their craft, for their technical ingenuity – melody, form, construction – is impeccable. I have in no way altered the texts and only very sparingly changed the melodic contour. The piano part was composed by me.
--Karel Husa
