Reviews
-
Stressing that his inspiration for the music arose from his long-time affection for the MBL, the composer explained how his work reflects aspects of this century-old institution. The first movement suggests by musical analogy, he said, the way scientists with different ideas arrive at a common point through discussion and experimentation.
The second movement evokes the sounds and movement of the sea, he continued, and the ebullient third movement suggests a look to the future as the laboratory begins its second century.
