• This music is wonderful! SYMPHONY NO. 4 is a classic, a satisfying mix of the formal and the expressive. The opening idea is a haunting refrain. The dancing Scherzo is a carnival of color, rhythm, and melodic grace. The slow movement displays a deeper message and a rhetorical climax. The outgoing finale is concise and victorious. Music to enjoy but no mere entertainment.
