New album ‘Earth Symphony’ by Tobias PM Schneid

Symphony No. 4 "An Earth Symphony" by Tobias PM Schneid was recently released by aDevantgarde records. It was recorded by Augsburger Philharmoniker, violinist Jung-Eun Shin and conductor Domonkos Heja.

The symphony addresses the preconditions of our existence and refers to the elemental forces of the earth. Multi-award-winning German composer Schneid describes the work as ‘my hymn to our wonderful planet Earth and my beacon for a more careful, mindful and responsible approach to it.’ In its conception, the composition is close to the symphonic tradition, but in terms of sound and style it breaks new ground.

An Earth Symphony consists of five movements: Magma, Water, Tree, Desert, and Air. Each is a comment on the disturbed nature of our ecosystem and focuses on its decomposition, caused by interfering human activity.
